LNB is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 6 rounds left. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Third defeat of league's leader Marineros (4-3) against second ranked Metros (5-2) 95-81 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Metros looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Metros made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Sir'Jabari Rice (193-1998, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 assists. Juan Guerrero (203-1993) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Sydney Curry (203-2000, college: GCU, agency: JCK Sports Group) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for Marineros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros keep a position of league leader. Marineros at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Titanes. They were replaced at the leadership position by Metros. Marineros will play next round against Indios trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Metros will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Caneros in La Romana.
Important game to mention about took place in San Cristobal. Sixth ranked Titanes (4-3) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Soles (1-6) 80-77 on Friday evening. American swingman Brandon Spearman (191-1991, college: Hawaii, agency: BIG) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and Richard Bautista chipped in 12 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Dimas Carrasco with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Marineros. Soles lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Titanes will play against Reales (#7) in La Vega in the next round. Soles' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santo Domingo Leones.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Indios (3-3) against seventh ranked Reales (2-4) on Friday night. Visiting Indios were defeated by Reales in La Vega 101-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Indios. Victor Martinez notched 18 points and 9 assists to lead the effort. Even a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds by Luismal Ferreiras did not help to save the game for Indios. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Reales maintains seventh position with 2-4 record. Loser Indios dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Leones. Reales will meet at home higher ranked Titanes (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Indios will play against Marineros in Puerto Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 6 Leones were beaten by Caneros on the road 87-78.
The most impressive performance of 6th round was 12 points and 9 assists by Lamonte Bearden of Caneros.



Titanes - Soles 80-77

Spearman is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Dimas Carrasco with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized American Fausto Pichardo (203-1995, college: Alabama St.) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Marineros. Everything could happen in La Romana at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Caneros and 5th ranked Leones had identical 3-2 record. This time Caneros used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Santo Domingo 87-78 on Saturday night. Caneros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Yeison Colome (190-1996) notched 21 points to lead the effort and American swingman Andre Norris (203-1994, college: Dubuque) supported him with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) did not help to save the game for Leones. Point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) added 14 points and 7 assists. Five Caneros and four Leones players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Caneros (4-2) moved-up to second place. Loser Leones keep the fifth position with three games lost.
